The Mountain Road will be closed for two evenings next week to allow essential maintenance work to take place ahead of the Festival of Motorcycling.
The route will be closed from Ramsey Hairpin to Creg-ny-Baa between 6.30pm and 10.30pm on Tuesday and Wednesday 7-8 August.
The Department of Infrastructure will undertake hedge and verge trimming to allow better visibility from the marshals’ shelters in addition to clearing gullies ahead of winter.
The Department for Enterprise Motorsports Group will use the opportunity to enable contractors to check the course, set up equipment and scaffold, and allow medical and other equipment to be placed in marshals’ shelters safely.
