Mike Dee, managing director of Manx Telecom, said: "We are delighted to support the Commonwealth Youth Games 2011 – it promises to be a fantastic event and a great way to welcome many new visitors to the Island.

"We wanted to provide our technical expertise to help the games’ organisers but also to provide something which would last beyond the games. The wireless networks we have created at the NSC and Villa Marina are the perfect way to achieve this goal."

Manx Telecom, a partner of the games, will also provide all competitors with a pay as you go SIM card so they can keep in touch with family and friends. Staff who have volunteered to help out at the games will also receive extra time off in return.

The Commonwealth Youth Games runs from September 7 to September 13.
