IOM launch of Global Poverty Project

‘1.4 Billion Reasons’

1.4 Billion Reasons’ will be presented by the Global Poverty Project’s cofounder Simon Moss, a leading campaigning and community education expert. Simon’s talk will focus on the simple yet vital actions that people can take to end the extreme poverty that affects 1.4 billion people worldwide. The Global Poverty Project seeks to inspire responsibility and positive action within the individual, explaining how our everyday actions– what we learn, say, buy, give and do – can be connected to the ending of extreme poverty.
This presentation is said to be the equivalent for the global poor, as Al Gore’s presentation An Inconvenient Truth was for Climate Change. This is a unique opportunity not to be missed. We will only become part of the change we want to see in the world, once we know the true reality of life for most people of the world.

The event will take place at the Manx Museum, Tuesday 1st March 2011 at 7:30pm.

The presentation is coordinated by the One World Centre and sponsored by the Manx Cooperative. Here is a taster… http://www.youtube.com/globalpovertyproject. The evening is free but you can pick up a ticket from the Manx Museum to guarantee a seat!
