CVO isle of Man, new website Isle of Man, web design Isle of Man, community organisations Isle of Man
THE Isle of Man Council of Voluntary Organisations has launched a new community website.
After 18 months of development it has launched its online gateway service, in partnership with isleofman.com
It offers CVO members free listings and the opportunity to upgrade so they can share news and events with the island’s online audience.
Gateway co-ordinator Alex Wilson said: ‘This opportunity to raise the profile and web presence of local organisations is a welcome development and shows what can be achieved through joint working.’
The launch event was at the iMuseum, a digital research facility that opens at the Manx Museum, in Douglas, in March.
The CVO was founded in 2007 and is made up from charity, voluntary and faith groups.
Its main aims are to allow CVO members to work together to influence local policy and represent third sector organisations, to share best practice and resources for the benefit of the community.
Members include Hospice Isle of Man, Southern Befrienders, Age Concern Isle of Man, Kemmyrk, Cruse Bereavement Care, The Salvation Army and Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen & Families Association Forces Help.
